If I am ever visiting a city that is lucky enough to have a Forbidden Planet branch then I will absolutely adapt my plans around that and make sure I drop by. This particular branch compares very favourably with others I have seen. Ground floor is bright and welcoming, with well laid out eyecatching displays throughout. For me personally there's something about just standing in front of a well stocked shelf full of toys and taking it all in that somehow takes me back to my own childhood. I've got a bit more pocket money now, but still have to make some hard decisions. Then there is the usual descent into the basement level and all those lovely comics. Never fail to find something of interest here. This is the place where it's okay to buy toys and read comics whatever age you are, and long may it continue.
Amazing little diamond in Leeds, always go into this little gem when visiting Leeds, anime, manga, Hello kitty, horror plushies merch, etc, there is something for everybody.
The staff were friendly and helpful. There was a good selection of blind boxes, the reason I took my wife there. Unfortunately that meant I had to buy some for her.
This place has lost its original personality. I went recently with a friend and it wasn't the Forbidden Planet I was familiar with, 5 years ago. The cellar is full of merch. Before, it used to be full of manga and graphic novels. Now it's overpriced tat. This goes for upstairs as well. Disappointing...
SELL FAKES!! We bought a labubu and went back to return it. They checked the return and processed it. We spent another £50 in store and then as we leave the manager accuses us of returning a fake!!! We gave them the box full sealed as we purchased it. The manager checked it and approved the return. After our purchases the manager took it upon herself to break the seals and open the box, opened the sealed packet and then as we were outside have the security stop us and pull us back inside in front of the whole store and allude to that we did something. We went back in where she laid out two labubus yet these mystery dolls could have been from anywhere. We returned a sealed box, she opened it without us present so who knows where these dolls were from. A lot of arguing later we offer to give them the money and asked to be charged but they asked us to leave!!! Very strange and highly incompetent service. Think they may have someone internally messing their stock. Key take away is they are actually selling fakes!!!
