I have been to many gyms but this one is the most unhygienic of them all. In the pictures you will see how disgusting THE ONE AND ONLY water fountain is. And please do not come to me and say it is because of the busy period in the gym, no number of people can create the yellow layer in the water fountain. That can only happen when it hasn’t been clean for very very long time. The bathrooms are always dirty and i didn’t want pictures of urinals in my phone or else you guys would see how vile they are in the men’s changing room. The shower cubicles are just as crazy with their fungus growing in them. The equipments are alright but are in heavy need of some maintenance. Please focus on hygiene.
Absolutely disastrous!!! I wouldn’t recommend my worst enemy to set foot in here. Apart from the fact it’s a concrete box with hardly any window and then only a few. But much worse than the place itself is its condition. It’s extremely rough. The toilets are broken, mostly locked. Urin all over the place, shit everywhere. Not toilet roll, nothing it’s totally disgusting. Nothing is taken care of. The lockets as well are majority demolished. Absolutely disgusting!!!
Great gym with a good variety of equipment and a well-maintained space. The parking is excellent, making it easy to access. Everything is well-organized, though the treadmills don’t have fans. Overall, it's a great place to work out!
I returned after some time off for health reasons and wow, has this place gone downhill. - Aircon hardly works/is off - Probably around 2/3 of the lockers are broken. - Some machines and hand dryer broke - Poo on the toilet seat... There has always been visible faeces in at least one toilet every time I've used them. - Toilet roll dispenser broken in the other non poop toilet - You have to search for free weights as they're never on the rack (I imagine this can't be helped given staffing levels) - The place smells bad. If you don't mind the above factors, I can tell you that if you go off peak and don't mind searching for weights, they usually have enough to go around. The cardio machines usually work. I work in healthcare and value a clean area to work out in, but if you don't mind dirty then this is an affordable option and doesn't have the children running around like The Gym on Meanwood road. I'm going to look for a new gym however.
Pros: open 24hrs, which is great for people who can't attend gym during the day, you can go anytime you want, It's quiet during late hours, toilets, showers, water protein bars, drinks and energy drinks available, if your familiar with the equipment you hardly have to wait for someone to finish depending on your workouts. Cons: I would highly advise wearing verruca socks when using the showers also if you are barefoot lay a spare towel on the floor, if not and you can manage shower at home especially if you are training after hours. IMPORTANT: they should have fire & emergency escape instructions front & center on the app it's self with instructions for first aid. They do have it when you walk right in before you start, so pay attention to the signs.
