The Roost Retreat Leeming Bar

The Roost Retreat is a comfortable, quiet and rustic holiday hideaway located in Leeming Bar, on the Gateway to the Lower Wensleydale. Our characteristic little retreat is an eco-conversion of a former Orangery and has been beautifully restored into cosy and unique self-catering accommodation.  The Georgian market town of Bedale and Northallerton, county town of North Yorkshire are both less than a 15 minute drive, with the Yorkshire Dales only 20 minutes by car.  The Wensleydale Heritage Railway, known as the Herriot Country Line is a minute walk from us and trains run to and from Leyburn and Scruton. There are also a number of themed trains throughout the year including the highly popular Afternoon Teas and Wensleydale Fryer Fish & Chip trains.

The Roost Retreat also benefits from its own separate well-equipped kitchenette/dining room and a private outside patio area with chairs, table and a barbeque which is exclusive to guests (fire pit on request). We have off-road private, level and secure parking, a large fully enclosed front garden and complimentary Wi-Fi.

Sleeping up to two guests, we are the perfect holiday bolthole for couples, solo travellers, business guests and contractors working in the area.  Dog friendly (up to two small dogs or one medium dog) and we also welcome motorcyclists and cyclists.
