We booked two rooms at the Lime Tree Inn after finding nowhere else nearby had any availability at short notice. What a find! The rooms were so comfortable and well-appointed, and the staff very friendly and the breakfasts delicious. Thank you for taking such good care of us on a difficult weekend. We'll be back for a Sunday lunch when we're next 'up north'!
Had a very lovely meal with the family, although the portion sizes could have been a bit bigger, particularly the offering of veg, desert was also a little small for the price but it was very tasty. All in all a great pub!
We called by chance for Sunday lunch , this was the first weekend as it was under new management, I have eaten here several times over the last two years ,and this experience was as good if not better .The beef was cooked to perfection, vegetables were so tasty and not overcooked ,which to myself is a big deal. The staff were very attentive, We will definitely be back to try lots on the new menus.
Where to start?! This place is impeccable from the location, the building, the rooms, the staff, the service and the food. The location is fantastic- it’s in the heart of the country, surrounded by farms and a lovely vineyard yet only 25 mins to get to the bustling historic city of York. The building is stunning- very in keeping with the area with a contemporary but homely feel inside. The staff are fantastic with no exceptions- all really friendly and hospitable with exceptional customer service skills- a true team that work together to deliver excellence. We stayed in the Birch room which was beautiful- immaculately clean and very spacious. Saving the best until last is the food- the care, love and attention that goes into each plate is second to none. Everything is homemade from the bread and butter to the pasta and ice cream. All the food was exceptional with our favourite starters being the Guinness cured beef with crispy egg and the smoked salmon with pickled cucumber. For the mains it’s a tough decision between the cod or the seared fillet of beef, although the haddock and chips was pretty special too. Desserts were all fantastic, the set elderflower cream was my son’s favourite but the almond tart with pickled walnuts and hafod was a clear winner for me. Rob and Heloisa have created something truly special here- such a shame they will be leaving soon- just as we find our new favourite place to stay! I hope the new owners put as much love and attention into the Lime Tree in, although it’s certainly a tough act to follow!
Great pub and the food tastes amazing, only thing is that the portion sizes are a bit small for the price, big plates with small pilled up portions, but again tastes great.
