Stayed here 3 nights, nicely laid out site. However, the pitches aren't very level, we had to move. The showers are clean and bright. The shower and toilet doors open outwards which is good as you dont have to struggle round the door in a small place, the toilet paper is behind you, so get it first! The showers are push button, lasts only a few seconds, which isnt very convenient. The electricity you pay for a card, I dont like this, we didnt mind paying extra for the electricity as the site itself is a resonable price, but it isnt very convenient having to check it all the time, especially if its raining, dark or cold, we used £10 in 3 days. There is a bus stop in High Hawkser around 5 mins walk, into Whitby but the buses are few only 1 or 2 an hour and when they come they are packed out. Albert in reception was very obliging, friendly and welcoming.
This caravan and camp site is in a great location for exploring the north yorkshire coast and moors. Bus stop within walking distance if you dont fancy driving. The site is realy clean and well organised. Toilet and showers are clean The motor home service point is a great asset and even has its own fresh water hose pipe to fill your onboard tank. Waste water drop point along side and elsan point. The site has a realy nice and cosy bar abd staff are lovely.
Excellent glamping pods, the on site facilities( toilet, showers) are spotlessly clean. With the added bonus of a pub on site serving food. When we checked in we were handed a welcome pack giving local information taxis etc. & a 10% voucher off food at the bar.
Electric charged seperately, and Very expensive. Nightly charge £30.00 on website, charged £35.00! Food, cheap £1 pizza charged £8.50 in cafe. No lighting to see where you are walking. Girl in the bar was pleasent. Only good thing about this site.
We stayed here for three nights in our motorhome, it was very quiet and perfectly located between Robin's Hood Bay and Whitby (both accessible by foot from the campsite). Having read other reviews, we were slightly concerned about the slopping pitches as others referenced this and unfortunately we don't own chocks as of yet. However, the motorhome pitches were only slightly sloped, and didn't affect our stay at all. The showers and toilets were clean and tidy. The only small negative we had was that the showers are push button style (not great for women washing their hair and they were luke warm rather than hot). Other than this, we loved the campsite and would recommend it to anyone visiting the area.
