Unfortunately there isn't any choice anymore in Market Weighton as the other chippy has closed. This place is convenient as can order online, although more often than not inconsistent. Tonight offering was atrocious, 7.99 for cod that was wafer thin, obviously cut in half lengthways, not a single flake of fish, frankly an utter disgrace, and overcooked to boot, actually chewy, and 1.99 for a pot of curry which was half filled. It's so poor to charge these prices and serve substandard crap. In the past I've also been charged 1.99 for a pot of peas (which was basically a few peas in green water) If you cannot fulfil the order you should not be accepting it and charging money for it simple as that, regardless of whether the shop is busy on a Friday etc. Hopefully MW will get a better chip shop soon and this place will either have to up its game or cease to offer their substandard inconsistent overpriced food.
Shocking fish, ordered a large and it was ten cm long by one cm thick full of bones, absolutely terrible. The chips were inedible little pieces of dried up potato. Nasty, nasty food.
If i could put 0 stars i would. Shocking. Fish was so dry and small, even though i ordered a large. I cant belive it was £7.99 just for the fish. Shocking. The chips were a good size for a small but by no means were they any good. They were cold and hard and a lot we just couldnt eat. I should have known how bad it was going to be by the fact yhe shop was dead at 5.30pm. i would rather travel to pock next time.
We used to get a takeaway regularly and obviously it was never the cheapest but it was decent. The last 3 times the fish has been poor quality in comparison to wetwang and bransburton deep blue. Very disappointing
Got what was supposed to be a large fish and chips, the chips were actually OK but one end of the fish was inedible. The fat end of the fillet was at best ok but the other half was just skin and batter and was difficult to chew, even the cat gave up on it.
