Cinnamon Essential Oil

Cinnamon essential oil is extracted from a range of tropical evergreen trees from the Cinnamomum genus. Our own cinnamon essential oil comes from Cinnamomum verum, often known by the common names of Sri Lankan Cinnamon, True Cinnamon or Ceylon Cinnamon. Cinnamomum verum is particularly popular as a base for essential oil extraction as it is believed to have a subtler yet richer scent with more depth than many other versions. To produce our essential oil, the inner bark of the tree is gently loosened from the living tree. It is then carefully cut away from the stem or branch so that the tree can continue to grow for generations to come. The oil is then extracted gently using steam to create the highest quality final product possible. Cinnamon essential oil is incredibly potent and should be used with care. The warm, spicy aroma quickly fills any room when used in a diffuser, but should be diluted with a suitable carrier oil and patch-tested before it is used in massage blends etc.
