His plan failed. Before a military court in Köpenick Castle, Friedrich and his plotter von Katte were now at stake: the Katte tragedy began.The Küstrin Castle became a prison for Friedrich. At his father's command, Friedrich was to watch the execution of his friend and plotter Hans Hermann von Katte from his window.Follow Theodor Fontane's footsteps with me in the former Küstrin old town.
