Product Description

Drink it now or cellar for up to 20 years. It is recommended to decant it for half an hour. Located in the Frankland River region, Swinney is an Australian winery founded in the late 1990s. The Swinney family settled in the area in the 1920s and ran their cattle ranch for years before deciding to plant vineyards and dedicate themselves to viticulture. The Grenache grapes are sourced from bush vines in the Wilsons Pool vineyard, on gravelly and clayey soils. After a multi-stage manual harvest, fermentation occurs spontaneously, with approximately 1/4 of the grapes being whole bunches, in a combination of wooden fermenters and stainless steel tanks. Finally, the finished wine ages in large, used oak barrels for approximately 10 months. In the glass, the wine reveals an intensely fragrant and vigorous character. Its aromatic profile opens with ripe notes of dark fruits such as blueberry, blackberry, and cassis, followed by hints of violet and licorice on a chocolatey undertone. On the palate, it is bold, energetic, and fresh, concentrated and smooth, with chalky tannins and a refreshing touch of acidity. The finish is long, elegant, and fruity. It is a wine capable of aging beautifully for a couple of decades, but if you can't wait, enjoy it now with roast pork belly.
