Late-season strawberry 'Malwina' produces large, glossy red berries with exceptional sweetness and aroma; most fruits exceed 3.5 cm diameter. Bred in Germany in the late 1990s, this perennial crops from mid July to mid August and bears fruit on short stems within the foliage for protection from birds and rain splash. It offers good disease resistance, being resistant to mildew and tolerant to Verticillium and Red Core. Malwina thrives in fertile, well-drained soil (pH 5.5-6.8), suits pots, patios, borders, raised beds and small vegetable plots, and reaches 0.1-0.5 m high with an eventual spread of 30 cm. Supplied as a pack of 60 bare root plants.
