Add to that the bright colour and the low (ish) alcohol content (11%) and you have a cracker of a pre-barbecue drink. Given Aperol's sudden rise in popularity in recent years it may come as a surprise to you to learn that this refreshing Aperitif has been around for nearly 100 years. The original recipe was the result of 2 brother's work and experimentation having inherited a liqueur company in 1912.
