Weighing just 2.35kg, without battery, the GC-CH 18/40 is perfectly balanced thanks to the optimal placing of the battery below the axis of the handle, giving greater control with reduced fatigue. Equipped with dual-action, 13mm spaced laser-cut and diamond-ground steel blades, the trimmer delivers clean, aggressive cuts through privet, box, holly or conifer and promote healthy plant growth. The internal drive mechanism relies on robust metal gearing rather than plastic equivalents, ensuring excellent torque transfer, reduced wear, and a significantly extended working life. User safety and control are central to the design. The unit features a two-hand safety switch that instantly halts the blades in under one second if a hand slips. A heavy-duty transparent hand guard shields the operator from flying debris without obscuring the line of sight, while the integrated aluminium blade cover protects the cutting teeth during transport or when stored away. For added durability, a rugged tip protector prevents damage to the blades when trimming low down near brick walls, paving, or gravel paths.
