A sheltered position is key, as kiwis dislike harsh weather conditions. Before planting, enrich the soil with well-rotted manure or garden compost, firm the plant in place, and water generously. Train the twining stems onto sturdy support wires strung between posts, creating an espalier. Water and feed regularly until established, especially during hot, dry periods.
