ABOUT THE PRODUCER. Pierre Mayeul is the story of three long-time friends with deep Burgundian roots, crafting cuvées that showcase each appellation’s distinct terroir and climat. Vinification takes place in an historic château in Ladoix, with ageing in 17th-century cellars in Beaune. For the 2022 release, élevage remains traditional: 100% new French oak, slow fermentation and 18 months on lees with bâtonnage to build texture and length. The warm, generous 2022 vintage brought pristine, ripe fruit with excellent balance and an immediate, alluring charm.. TASTING NOTES. Bright white-gold in the glass. A frank, expressive nose of ripe pear, lime zest and white flowers, layered with exotic fruit and a gentle flicker of white pepper. The oak is seamlessly integrated, adding fine spice and tension. The palate opens powerful yet energetic, with a tangy, mouth-watering freshness over a dense, fruit-rich core. Long, juicy finish with a saline twist that extends the persistence. Delicious now; excellent ageing potential.. FOOD PAIRING. Superb with flambé prawns, veal chop, salmon en croûte de sel, Bresse chicken with jus, stuffed capon, or foie gras with figs.
