Product Description

Château Clarke, acquired by Baron Edmond de Rothschild in 1973, is situated in the Listrac Medoc appellation. The vineyard is planted with Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon vines, which were replanted after Baron Edmond's acquisition. Three wines are produced at the estate, including the top cuvée Chateau Clarke, which often requires more than five years of bottle age to show its full potential. The 2010 vintage has started to emerge from its slumber, offering a suave core of black fruit with tertiary development beginning to emerge. This vintage boasts ripe black fruit, red cherry, and toast, mingled with cedar, truffle, and leather. The palate is fleshy and rich, with generous fruit and soft, developed tannins. This is a beautiful claret, built in a style that is slightly more restrained compared to the super-juicy modern high-alcohol clarets of today.
