Ch. Rauzan-Segla, Grand Cru Classe, Margaux, 2016 is a 75cl red wine from the renowned Rauzan-Segla estate. The estate has seen significant investment since its purchase by the Wertheimer family in 1994, with renovations to the chateau, cellars, and restructuring of the vineyards. Today, the majority of the 74 ha of vineyards are located in the Cantenac plateau, with a small parcel in the Margaux commune. The Grand Vin is typically made up of over 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, with around a third Merlot and a small amount of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. This wine is a classic example of a sexy, dark-hearted Margaux wine with serious finesse and fine structure. In 1787, Thomas Jefferson ordered ten cases of Rauzan-Segla following a trip to the Bordeaux region, declaring it to be truly at the top of the second growths. Rauzan Segla's Grand Vin is sourced from 37-year-old vines in the heart of the estate. This wine is suitable for both men and women.
