Product Description

Enjoy a wealth of delicious, juicy fruit with the Blueberry 'Chandler', a self-fertile variety that's simply bursting with flavour. From early August to mid-September, this robust blueberry bush produces enormous, firm berries - some weighing up to 2g and measuring 20mm (¾inch) in diameter.Beyond its delicious fruit, this blueberry bush makes an attractive shrub for patios or acidic borders. Expect masses of sweetly scented, creamy white flowers in spring, followed by fiery crimson autumn foliage. Blueberries are packed with health-boosting goodness and are especially good in pies, muffins, and jams. For best results, plant in well-drained, acidic soil in a sunny or partially shaded spot. In areas without naturally acidic soil, grow blueberry plants in patio containers using ericaceous compost mixed with John Innes No. 3. Water with rainwater whenever possible, as the lime contained in tap water can reduce soil acidity over time.Your blueberry plant will begin fruiting in its third year. Protect developing berries from birds with netting. From the third year onwards, prune the oldest stems each autumn to encourage new growth and maintain a healthy plant structure.Position: Full Sun/Partial Shade.Height: Up to 1.5m when fully established.Spread: Up to 1.5m when fully established.Supplied as 1 x Blueberry ‘Chandler’ (Vaccinium) bush in a 1.5 Litre Pot.Images shown are for guidance only and show expected results from mature plants. Different growing conditions can affect results. The image may illustrate the supply but can vary due to seasonal changes (e.g., deciduous plants lose leaves in colder months).
