About Beardmore Park
About Beardmore Park
Despite the name, Beardmore Park is not a park in the usual sense. It is a short footpath through common land that connects the Beardmore housing estate to the beach at Marske-by-the-Sea. Locals use it as a quick way to reach the coast β and it can be a pleasant walk β but it is a pass-through route, not a destination in its own right.
What to expect
The path runs between residential-key estate and the seafront. It is pretty in places, especially on a fine day, but there is no open grass, no benches, and nowhere to spread out a picnic. Do not plan a day out here expecting park facilities.
The route is well used by residents and can feel secluded, particularly in the evenings. If you are visiting from outside the area, treat it as a walking link to the beach rather than somewhere to linger.
Practical information
Access: The path is not wheelchair-friendly. Suitable footwear is advisable, especially after wet weather.
Best for: A short walk between the estate and Marske beach if you are already nearby β not for picnics, not for pushchairs or wheelchairs, and not worth a special trip on its own.
Opening: Open access at all times, as common land.
