Unpretentious, friendly gym where everyone is welcomed. Good equipment, instructors that know their stuff, shout out to Chris who works you hard, but obviously spends loads of time thinking how he can make it fun and interesting. Wouldn't go anywhere else. Great value for money too
Squeaky clean, well priced gym. Smyth machine and cable crossover machines are super smooth. Peck deck/reverse fly machine is quality. Dumbells upto 50kg which isn't too bad. 3 x squat cages and plenty of benches. The cardio machines and equipment here is top quality. Any maintenance seems to get sorted quickly. Staff are friendly and helpful. Changing rooms, sauna and showers are adequate. Feels like it's missing a supplement area at the entrance. However, the radio constantly playing does nothing for hyping up and creates quite a boring atmosphere. Some of the machines need swapping because they're poor. Namely, the Pulldown machine which is the worst around. It's starting position is too low no matter how you set up so you start every rep half way though your ROM. It's single cable too which is scary if you're strong. It has snapped numerous times before. The leg press tries to be a seated leg press and lying hack squat and ends up doing neither - It's a really poor machine. The Quad extention and Ham curls are old, base versions of Cybex's range which manage to over complicate two of the easiest of set ups and movements. The seated rows are dated, poor versions of good machines. Same goes for the seated preacher machine. General positioning and movement of these machines are poor. I believe the mentioned issues could be swapped out for better pieces of equipment making this gym one of the best in the area. A dedicated leg press and hack squat most of all. Just a quixk visit to a few of the surrounding gyms would open the owner's eyes to what's missing here.
Great gym, very reasonably priced, friendly staff and friendly atmosphere and always made to feel very welcomed.
Great staff could not be more helpful
Joined today, great little gym for price and very friendly staff cant ask for more than that, one area to improve tho they have a fridge at reception so maybe fill it with protein drinks rather than just energy drinks
