Well yes, I did visit the Mexborough Athletic Sports Club, however it was not to use the facilities they offer. It was actually for an event held there by the Northern Birman Cat Club. I had never been to any kind of Cat show before, so me territory for me, but we were there to take photographs of the 'competitors'. The judging started early and the show was open to the public from 11:30am and we spent an interesting day watching all the different categories and listening to judging criteria. The location itself was easy to find and had plenty of free parking. The room the event was held in looked fine with staging at the far end, a bar (shut for this event) as you walk in and DJ equipment. So I would imagine it works well for suitable celebratory events. I could see tennis courts and a football pitch which looked fine. Maybe one day I will be back there and comment more usefully on what this place has to offer.
Fantastic cricket club and the Saturday 1st team captain is an absolutely amazing cricketer. I hope one day I'm as good.
Attended the New year's eve Soul night which is usually held on the second Saturday of the month throughout the year, a great time was had by all. I do like a drink of stout and wasn't disappointed, they have Theakstons Dark ale at £3 . Card payments are excepted, A very nice club.
