Best pub on this land as far as Im aware. Worth the detour, never had a bad pint or scran in the last 2 years since discovering it. Atmosphere is always great, log fire is usually lit and service would put a lot of places to shame. Good job I don’t live up here else I’d be ruined. Til next time gents, thank you, great as always. See pictured a hotshot parmo, you won’t go hungry here.
The Cover Bridge Inn is an old coaching inn (beams & roaring fire included) which has been welcoming travellers for 350 years. The staff are all very friendly as are the locals who frequent the pub. Our spaniel was also made to feel at home and was given treats. She particularly loved Marianne. We had a lovely three day stay here. Room was comfortable and a great breakfast. Thank you for a lovely experience and brilliant atmosphere making us feel so welcome!
Popped in after a recommendation, especially about the food, but also the ambience. It did not disappoint. I only needed a light lunch so opted for "pheasant scotch egg". Freshly made and cooked, served on a generous helping of curry mayonnaise, which complemented the scotch egg perfectly. This was accompanied by an excellent pint of Semer Water, from the nearby Wensleydale Brewery. Plenty of other ales to choose from, should you desire. My interactions with the staff showed them to be very friendly, helpful and accommodating. Will definitely recommend and be going back to the Cover Bridge Inn.
Such a shame, we have been coming here and eating here for 50 years. This will be the last time unless we hear things have changed. Ordered food, my pie was good but was served on a cold plate, said as much to be told the food is hot so doesn't need to be on a hot plate. The veg was cold by the time I finished. My husband ordered the gammon and eggs, gammon was good but the eggs were burnt, you could actually pick them up, they were replaced, but the second serving was only marginally better than the originals. It was not that busy so that excuse won't wash.
We booked a table for tea tonight. What a lovely local pub this place is. A few locals were in when we arrived who were a friendly bunch and it was good to chat. The friendly staff brought our meals in due course, not a long wait, roast partridge for me and scampi for my wife. Both were delicious. All in all, I'd thoroughly recommend The Cover Bridge Inn for a meal.
