Stumbled across this place, and so glad we did. Very tasty and delicious fish and chips. Generous portions and good price. Served by a friendly owner and would definitely recommend a visit!
Had fish and chips from the Middleham Fish Bar twice while on holiday in this charming village. All food cooked fresh to order, delicious fish, proper old style home cooked chips. Quick and friendly service. Not a huge menu choice but when the fish is this good there doesn't need to be. Second visit was every bit as good as the first. Reasonably priced.
I found a visit a must after walking round the castle and all the fresh air. Even more so when I saw the old Morgy 1000 van outside (my dad drove one for years for work). I just had chips and mussy peas but loved every scrap and they kept me out of one of the many pubs around the market place. Try some if your going past or are staying in the areaβ¦.
Friday 25th April 25 4:30pm. We were the first customer through the door. Be aware this is a new owner for less than a year so don't take notice of older reviews. Wow! Five stars.... Except for atmosphere... I don't think I have ever visited a takeaway chippy with "atmosphere"... π€£π€£ The lady serving was nice and we had a nice chat while the food was cooking. Haddock and chips takeaway, my wife had scampi on there own (10) and mushy peas and curry sauce. The chip portion was excellent and didn't need two portions as we are older and also had some buttered rolls too (from a different establishment), The fish was excellent, the mushy peas and curry sauce were both excellent and a very good portion compared to most chip shops. Will visit again next time we are in the area. Middleham is a really village with the castle dominating the skyline.
Cracking fish & chips, some of the best we've ever had. Huge fish, crispy batter, lovely chips. A proper fish & chip shop.
