Prices are high, however thats not what put me off. Its the staff member thats working there. I have entered shop to buy a bottle of water, no acknowledgment, no communication, on a way out I have said goodbye, he just starred at me looking like he is sending me to motherland. Not the customer service you want to see at all. And I can see by reviews I am not the only one.
Nice handy WHSmith located inside Middlesbrough train station, shop is accessed on the southern side of the station via the ticket hall/main area on the platform 1 side. If on platform 2 it can be reached by crossing underneath the tracks through the subway, it is up the stairs on the left. It Stocks a great selection of meal deals, magazines and other travel accessories. Unfortunately prices are relatively high due to location in Train station, but relative remoteness of station means no close shops outside the station makes this your only choice. Shop is always clean and tidy, nicely laid out and staff are friendly. Is quite a small shop though, so those in a wheelchair may find it difficult to navigate the tight spaces inside. Overall a nice shop with high prices but convenient location.
Very rude woman on this morning, door was open so I walked in and she went “not open yet” and did a shoo gesture with her hands, absolutely disgusting prices anyway won’t be coming in here again that’s for sure and I’ll be making a formal complaint. Don’t know why you’d have the door open if you aren’t open?
£2.85 for a bottle of water , I can get a 12 pack from Aldi for that , forgot to bring some from home so had to buy one , the guy that runs it didn’t acknowledge me when I got to the till , just scanned it , passed it back and I paid on the card reader , said my thanks , still no acknowledgment, totallly lacking in customer services and basic manners
Ridiculous prices in here, I walked in and straight out and down to Tesco in the town centre of Middlesbrough to get a drink and a snack
