|Theatre Re, one of the UK’s most exciting theatre companies, is making a big return in 2025 with a packed tour featuring some of its most powerful and emotional productions. Known for blending movement, music, and visual storytelling, Theatre Re has built a reputation for creating performances that hit you right in the feels. And this time, they’re bringing back audience favourites alongside a brand-new show.

A Theatre Company That Goes Beyond Entertainment
If you’re not familiar with Theatre Re, they’re not your typical theatre group. Their performances dive deep into human emotions, memory, and personal experiences, often working with experts in science, philosophy, and public health to shape their storytelling. This year, they’ve even teamed up with the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) for one of their productions, making the connection between theatre and real-world health issues even stronger.
Their shows are a mix of visual theatre, live music, and physical storytelling, meaning you don’t need to rely on words to feel the emotions they bring to the stage. If you’ve ever struggled to explain a feeling, Theatre Re has probably found a way to show it without saying a word.
What’s On: Four Must-See Shows Touring the UK
Moments & BIRTH – The Double-Bill That Hits Close to Home
📍 Poole – 11th March 2025 (Tickets here)
Theatre Re’s brand-new show Moments will premiere as a double-bill with BIRTH, a previous hit that sold out at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2019. Moments is a deeply personal piece reflecting on the company’s 14 years together, exploring the universal experience of losing a parent while stepping into parenthood yourself.
BIRTH, on the other hand, tells the heart-wrenching story of pregnancy loss and how three women from the same family deal with it across generations. Expect an emotional rollercoaster, but one filled with love and hope.
💡 Can’t make it to Poole? BIRTH will also be performed:
- Nottingham – 17th March 2025 (Tickets here)
- Chester – 13th-14th May 2025 (Tickets here)
The Nature of Forgetting – A Powerful Look at Memory Loss
📍 Winchester – 26th-27th March 2025 (Tickets here)
One of Theatre Re’s most celebrated productions, The Nature of Forgetting, is back after more than 200 sold-out performances worldwide. This hauntingly beautiful piece was inspired by research on dementia and interviews with those living with memory loss.
With the backing of the NIHR, this tour also aims to raise awareness about dementia research, offering audiences a chance to learn about initiatives like Join Dementia Research, a platform connecting people with studies that aim to improve understanding and treatment.
Bluebelle – A Folktale with a Fresh Twist
📍 Sheffield – 11th-12th June 2025 (Tickets here)
This visually stunning show takes inspiration from the likes of Angela Carter, the Brothers Grimm, and Italo Calvino, combining classic fairytale elements with real interviews from parents and carers. Bluebelle explores the deep emotions tied to parenthood in a completely fresh way.
And here’s the best part: this show is designed for d/Deaf audiences without needing a BSL interpreter. Developed with Visual Vernacular and d/Deaf artists, it brings accessibility to the forefront while keeping its storytelling magical and immersive.
