We called on Sunday lunchtime without a booking, but were given a table. A warm welcome, friendly staff, cosy environment with open fires and wonderful views from the windows. The food and service was all excellent and fairly priced. The only criticism was that there seemed be an issue with the kitchenβs extractor fans as the pub was filled with smoke and we came out stinking of cooking oil or lard! We had to wash all the clothes we were wearing!
We went to Wagon and Horses on Sunday 9th November. 5 adults . 2 of our party had the fish and chips which was excellent they said . Three of us had the Sunday Lunch and we chose the Lamb . Also excellent and by far the best Lamb we had in a long time. Yorkshire puddings cooked to perfection as were the vegetables and delicious gravy We would highly recommend this pub . 10 out of 10 for food and quality and staff were very friendly too . We all really enjoyed being here and will definitely be returning . Thank you . Kind regards Karen and family .
A warm welcome from walking in the door... Laura and Francis are lovely and full of beans! The staff are all friendly. The food is always fabulous and they even tweak dishes for fuss pots like me π Highly recommended π
Surprised with joy. After a drive through the beautiful countryside my wife and I stopped here for a drink. Warmly welcomed we took a gander at the menu and decided to order food as well. We were not disappointed. The star of the starter menu is the Fish Cocktail, ample in size and great quality. You might want to just order this as a mains! Portions are excellent. I decided on the Steak and Ale Pie. Good choice, not one of those mince and gravy jobs. This was full of braised steak, tasty pastry and solid chips. Just love the red cabbage side. Jack Daniels Chicken also a good choice. The staff were very friendly from the getgo. Happy to chat and definitely interested in checking everything was ok. Parking ample, including disabled parking. Glad to recommend this venue as a place worth stopping at for food, especially if you are hungry. We'll definitely be returning.
Fantastic meal this evening. The Jack Daniels and mushroom sauce on the chicken was amazing. Definitely recommend. Great portion sizes. Hubby had BBQ pulled pork burger, delicious π.
