We are now collectors of NS artwork. Just visited today and purchased two more pictures. His work is modern but only in the sense that you can understand where he is coming from! Look at the website and see if you might like his work before you visit, but a visit is highly recommended Neil is a very nice man not what one might expect from an artist! His gallery is worth the visit an old chapel in Yorkshire and hear Neil’s story.
From the first moment I saw Neil's paintings I fell in love with them. Neil is a lovely man with an outstanding talent. I have known him for over 25 years now and I have a few of his paintings. I love the ideas of a picture within a picture which Neil does. When I was talking to Neil once he had a painting of a full sized easel next to him and on that easel was a pencil. Neil said that once he went to pick up the pencil to use. His work is so intricate. Love his art, love him.
We spent a good hour or so walking around Neil Simone’s Old Chapel Gallery at Main Street, Glasshouses, just outside Pateley Bridge. Not knowing what to expect when we entered, we were immediately amazed by his imaginative work. Every landscape was so absorbing with Neil’s quirky and humorous imagination clearly expressed within every painting. Neil was there at hand to tell us how his own particular style developed. You don’t have to be a professional artist to appreciate art. And you don't have to get wet on a rainy day in the Yorkshire Dales. So marry up these two simple thoughts and pop along to Neil’s gallery and I promise that you will leave with a smile and possibly a print or an original tucked under your arm. Thank you for your time Neil and for a really enjoyable visit. Eddie & Maralyn from Kent
90% is outdoors, so pick your day or wear suitable clothing. Great breakfast at the Bretton cafe, then we did about 12km just missing a handful of sculptures before a late lunch. Sculptures are being rotated in.
Went today with my elderly dad and his brother. Neil showed us round his gallery. Wonderful talent, wonderful paintings, and lovely man.
