Just returned from a fabulous weekend at Cawthorne House. Expectations were high after reading the reviews including the Times article and we weren't disappointed! From the moment we arrived Pascal was the perfect host and his family absolutely adorable. We were there for the sourdough school which was excellent and so much fun. We were sent home with big smiles on our faces, happy memories, a new friend, our freshly baked sourdough and our very own baby Pascal starter. Could we have asked for more? I think not! Other reviews reference the extra touches and the delicious breakfasts complemented by Pascal's freshly baked sourdough all of which we greedily enjoyed too. Thank you Pascal and your lovely family for making a memorable weekend x
Had a wonderful 2 night stay here mid Oct. Pascal is lovely. Had a wonderful warm welcome, got shown to our wonderful room, followed by complimentary fizz and canapés. Sour Dough, well wow what can I say, Pascal makes his own and you have it at breakfast, still warm, absolutely delicious. You can even have a lesson with him. Location was great, we where there for a Railway experience and the station was 5mins away. Plenty of places to eat, Pascal will tell you the best place. Highly recommend the Indian up the road, it gets busy. Just like to thank Pascal and his family for our lovely stay. Im sure we'll visit again. Michelle and Cliff Marshall
Fabulous short stay at Cawthorne House. Pascal was a wonderful host. Loved the extra touches, home made biscuits, glass of bubbly and canapés on arrival. The breakfast was delicious. All fresh food. Home made sourdough was lovely. Very clean and tidy. Cawthorne House was perfect for our visit to Dalby Forest. Pickering is a lovely town. We enjoyed a lovely meal at The Black Swan and a glass or two of real ale at The Sun. We'll be for a longer stay next time. Thank you!
Pascal couldn't do enough for us plenty of places to eat and lots of interesting places quite near the breakfasts were out of this world would certainly come again
I was lucky enough to stay at Cawthorne House recently, and attended the sourdough cookery class. From the moment I walked through the door, I was made to feel welcome. The room was large and comfortable, with a jar of homemade cookies to tempt me (which they definitely did! I ate every delicious mouthful!). The sourdough class was interesting and we made canapés while the dough was doing its thing. Pascal made some wonderful sandwiches from his own crafted loaves, all washed down with copious amounts of tea. I could have had fizz but tea did the job nicely. After a very good nights sleep, I had a fabulous breakfast while my own loaf baked and I took it home, still warm from the oven. I can wholeheartedly recommend Cawthorne House. Treat yourself, you won’t regret it.
