Lowther House is awesome. So quiet. So peaceful. I kept my windows open and enjoyed the sounds of the creek and local creatures such as owls during the night. Lowther House was the most refreshing nights sleep I've had on my entire trip. From the moment I arrived having walked from Pickering past the delightful natural wildflower meadow which was even stunning in rain the host was caring and lovely offering a sandwich and hot drink. The hosts are eager to help so if anything doesn't meet your needs be sure to let them know. I had full Yorkshire breakfast in the garden which was a lovely combination of curated garden around the seating area tapering into indigenous wildflowers supporting local wildlife including frogs and otters. This is so much nicer than a totally manicured garden. The surroundings reflect the personality of the host full of delights and interests.

Carol and Elliot went out of they’re way to make us feel so welcomed The house is set in an idyllic location and the gardens are well worth visiting We enjoyed riding the steam train to Whitby. Star attraction was their pooch Nutty Thank you for making our four night stay so memorable Carol!

Stayed here for one night. It was wonderful, can’t complain at all especially the gorgeous scenery all around. It’s lovely for getting away to relax from the nosey atmosphere of everyday life. The hosts were very welcoming and friendly making sure that we had everything needed from start to finish.
