We just came back from a 2 night stay here. It was fantastic nice and quiet 5 mins walk into Pickering with are dog Cooper there was lots to do there. super market as 5 mins away also. We went in to the Recreation ground club both nights for a few beers and a glass of wine we was welcomed on both occasions and the staff couldn’t do enough for us giving us advice on local places to see. We will definitely be staying there again thank you All
Great location, Pickering is only 5 to 10 min easy walk. Very generously sized grass pitches with EHU on each. The grass was a bit on the rough side and the pitch was uneven so will need levelling chocks. A good outlook over a concrete perimeter wall onto beautifully kept football and cricket pitches. We didn't use the club house so can't comment on that. The chemical emptying point was standard, the toilets are in the same area but I chose not to use them. I booked and paid online, information regarding getting there and facilities were emailed to me so I didn't have any personal interaction with anyone. £25 with electric per night, so I suppose it's the location that you are paying for. I would use again.
Lovely site close to Pickering centre. Large pitches which are quite uneven but we managed to set up our ‘van level. The grass on the pitch could be cut shorter but the ground did drain quickly after some overnight rain. The clubhouse is a 2 minute walk away and we found the customers and the staff very friendly, the price and assortment of drinks was good too. Pickering high street is a10 minute walk away with lots of pubs, food outlets and a good variety of shops. We would very much like to return there again.
Nice basic grass pitch with hook up. Slightly sloping. We had a choice out of five that are separated by small wooden fence dividers. Ideally situated close to Pickering town centre. Classed as a recreation ground, there were two cricket matches over our two day stay which were free entertainment. Used our own facilities throughout our stay. Peaceful and quiet. Good value. Dog friendly.
A great place to stay, a few minutes walk into to Pickering, lovely pubs and coffee shops. A great bus service and of course the North Yorkshire Railway. Last but not least, the warm and friendly welcome from the Pickering Recreation Club. Love it, third visit, can’t wait to go again
