The Hawthornes

Stayed here over the Christmas period. Great value for money. We stayed in one of their two self-catered log cabins and absolutely loved it. Under floor heating plus a wood burning stove. Fully equipped kitchen with dining table and very comfy bed. We briefly met the owners, Paula and John, who were both very welcoming and answered any questions we had. Each cabin has it's own parking space. You can also purchase fresh farm produce such as sausages and bacon. Will definitely be staying here again and would happily recommend this place to anyone.

Paula was a delight. The Lodge was fantastic. In a great location to travel to near by attractions or if need any local amenities in Pickering. Good location for some country walks also.

Our return visit in our touring caravan certainly ticked all our boxes We promised to come back after a short stay last year and I booked late last year after our 3 day visit had been so wonderful We stayed this time for 3 weeks . The location is ideal for touring the dales The Appleby family are welcoming and have been a pleasure to share time with it certainly is a little bit of paradise we look forward to revisiting as soon as we are able Fantastic!

We used the Caravan and Motorhome Club certificate location. During a wet and dull autumn it was what it was. The pitches are elevated from the road but there is a hedge at the roadside. When there are no leaves on the hedge the noise can be a little intrusive. Probably because of the rain the grass hadn't been cut, and because of its length it held the water, that in turn made it problematic when going to the facilities. You cant blame the site owners for dirty washroom floors, only the previous user. But when the toilet roll needs replacing and it isn't done for three days it shows a lack of interest in what could be a very nice site. All in all it is not as good as some, better than others, and could be so much more with only a little bit of effort.

Eco lodge that's well thought out and stocked. Lovely quiet location for walking or touring. Super clean (any mess in the pictures is ours), stocked with everything you need, and well built, the eco lodges are a gem to stay in. The professional pictures you see on here are actually accurate. It really does look like them.
