The only issue this place suffers from is a marketing issue! I’ve lived in this area for years and been past this many times, but always “assumed” it was a tiny couple of deckchairs in someone’s garden serving tea, coffee & cakes. It turns out they do everything including all day breakfast! And it’s HUGE. After the initial couple of tables in the courtyard, there’s a huge lovely homely inside bit, conservatory, and garden!
Had afternoon tea here this afternoon and it was fabulous. Right from calling to book, everything was spot on. We were cheerily greeted and were offered a range of seating, choosing the conservatory and treated to a delicious array of savoury and sweet treats with lashings of tea. And were even given proper boxes to take away the bits we couldn't manage. Heartily recommended to anyone local or passing on the a1079.
After a lovely walk down the Pocklington canal you can safely cross the main road to the tea room. Really friendly staff and the BEST strawberry cheesecake we have ever had. It doesn't get better than this 🍓😍.
After a nice walk along pocklington canal, it's great there is a tearoom opposite canal head. Had the best pork, apple and stuffing roll I've ever had. The pork was incredible. Will definitely call in again shame it's only open Sundays. Doing the canal walk again on Thursday and having to find another tearoom, shame
Called today Sunday 10th October 2021as a party of 6(5 adults 1 child),currently only open on a weekend. We'd just done a circular walk from Pocklington canal head to bielby and return. We knew of the tea rooms and thought we'd try it.Well worth the visit. Not an extensive menu but all you need after a walk ie from paninis to sandwiches. You can have afternoon cream tea, afternoon cream tea and sandwiches and you can also pre book for Sunday lunch. Their special sandwich was pork and stuffing with apple sauce which 3 adults had. Very pleasant owners and setting, eat in the courtyard or inside.Located almost opposite the entrance to the canal head on a back road into Pocklington about 100 metres from the old Wellington Oak pub. Would highly recommend, will be visiting again.
