Enterprise Car & Van Hire - Pocklington

I have recently used enterprise to hire a van to empty my late mother’s house. The customer service as always was excellent. I have been using enterprise for about 8 years for vans for various uses. I have as Leo hired cars aswell in the past. All the vehicles are very clean and well maintained. Any questions about my hire the staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. I never hesitate to use enterprise if I need a van or car.

Found the experience of hiring the car from the Pocklington branch first class from start to finish. Excellent customer service from arranging the hire to delivering and then collecting the car. Wouldn't hesitate to use again if needed in the future.

Hired a van for a week and was sadly involved in a serious collisions on the motorway which wasn’t my fault. These things happen I suppose but not to me after over 30 years of careful driving this was my first collision. I moved the van to a safe location and had to find my own way home after being messed around for 3 hours. Paid £200 for an uber to take me and my partner home. Was later informed that I was liable to a £2000 insurance liability fee regardless of fault which I reluctantly agreed however couldn’t afford to make the payment in one ago. Was agreed that a payment plan would be put into place with everyone i talked to at enterprise during numerous ensuing phone calls across the various departments of the business however this verbal arrangement was never (seemingly) communicated to the branch level. Was contacted at various times by Tom the manager asking for the full amount. Last conversation I had with enterprise was on the 16th July where again a payment plan was discussed with monthly arrangement hypothetically agreed. The day after on the morning 17th July I noticed to my horror that payment of £2000 had been taken from my account using my debit card details under a “customer not present” authorization from a PDQ terminal in York. I’m utterly outraged!! They’ve taken money from me without authorization and have seriously jeopardized me financially. They’ve taken my mortgage payment and food allowance for the month. My family are disabled with utter disbelief with how this company has treated us. It is utterly inhumane and abhorrent behaviour. Will never use this company again. Updated. Taken another £35 off my card for a “traffic violation” 3rd August. The response they’ve supplied below is a stock response. No resolution, apology. Nothing. Absolutely shocking business. Scum bags in shirts and ties with the morals of used car salesmen
