Atlas The Bakery

A happy accident when we discovered Atlas today. We asked about vegan options and were immediately introduced to the vegan member of staff, Ben, who couldn't have been more helpful. Enthusiastic, friendly and knowledgable. The plant-based food was an absolute delight - creative, hearty and full of flavour. Excellent work Atlas!

We absolutely love coming to Atlas. By chance, we stumbled in when it first opened and asked if they had any vegan options on the menu. They did not at the time but they were able to create a sandwich on the spot which was incredible. Since then the options have been fantastic and so tasty. Eating the staple cinnamon bun, cardamom bun or mushroom sandwich is a weekly Saturday morning ritual of ours now. The team are so friendly and clearly passionate about what they are doing; it is also so nice to have a cafe where ‘vegan option’ is not just an afterthought. Atlas is a wonderful addition to Pocklington.

Great new bakery/cafe off the Main Street in Pocklington. Well worth seeking this one out. Seating upstairs and also a couple of dog friendly tables downstairs in view of the ovens where you can see the chef preparing orders and baking fresh sourdough, brownie and cake! Visited with the family and enjoyed classic bacon and egg in some fantastic sourdough, also the kids enjoyed a smaller sized sausage sandwiches in soft white bread. Chocolate brownie and a large sourdough loaf also purchased to enjoy at home. Friendly staff and good service. Appears to be a busy place and seemed to sell out of the bread and cakes quickly whilst we were there but always fresh replacements coming out of the ovens. I understand that they had only been open less than a week when we visited so I can imagine things will only get better as they find their feet and get settled in. Will be returning.

Atlas is a first class bakery and cafe in the heart of our town. Fantastic range of breads and delicious sweet treats and savouries. Brilliant place for lunch or a drink and a catch up. Lovely staff too. Nothing to much trouble. The festive sando has been a recent favourite.

Stopped for coffee and a potato and rosemary tart. Both excellent: the pastry is top quality. Was asked to road test their new line of eccles cakes which were equally good. It’s a bit tucked away but there’s a sign at the back of the main square pointing the way: worth it!
