The most amazing display of a multitude of tulips. Their colours mixed together in artistic and creative pallette. The tulips are clearly labelled in their varieties and there are explanations of historical horticultural interest. The whole garden is beautifully laid out with interesting and varied walkways . There are peaceful areas for quiet reflection and plenty of seating . A large lake, with wild life a plenty, gives a central focus and a cooling vista on a warm day. An excellent cafe with a good variety of appropriate choices completes a perfect destination venue.

We spent a wonderful day out in the gardens during the tulip festival. There are plenty of spots to enjoy a picnic and the gardens are absolutely beautiful. We also got lucky with the weather so we had a glorious afternoon picnicking and enjoying time in nature.

Cracking place to visit. Feeding ever growing carp by what seems the hundred almost leaping out of the water is a unique experience. Good gardens and a fine cafe to boot.

Beautiful and peaceful gardens that are very well maintained. Major Stewart was an interesting and adventurous character and Pocklington was so lucky that he gifted these gardens to them. A lovely place to visit.

Beautiful Gardens cared for by a dedicated team. An absolute pleasure to walk around and soak up the beauty. Have a light lunch in the coffee shop where the staff are extremely helpful, attentive and friendly.
