Pontefract Crematorium

I have been to the cremation of a family member today and was so pleased to see how the remembrance gardens were so well kept. They were immaculate.

A smart and externally well presented site. The staff clearly care about the facility and look after it well. The railings around the ornamental pond need repairing, and clearly have for some time as the ineffective barrier preventing you leaning on them looks very tired. Internally it is a little dated but we'll looked after. The extensive grounds are well clipped, and it is clearly the sort of place you could feel happy leaving your relatives ashes.

Set in nice grounds and a small intimate chapel. Unfortunately, because the turnover of services is rapid, the service for my mum, was thoroughly spoiled by inconsiderate, thoughtless, people waiting for the next funeral. Such was the disturbance, our celebrant had to leave the service, and ask them to be quiet. You would think at a place like this, people would show some respect, but they don't. Perhaps, a bigger time gap or stop people standing outside the doors, when there is already a service taking place.

A very quiet and comforting area. Good garden area, plenty of parking.

The staff are very polite and respectful, the grounds are well-kept, nobody ever really wants to be at a crematorium but it’s as nice as a crematorium can be.
