Fantastic friendly pub with sports galore showing premier league matches on loadsa screens, child friendly, dog friendly. Outdoor area is spacious and all tables equipped with umbrellas for sun or rain.Staff are very attentive 👍

More geared towards a drinking pub I feel,, It was busy with a good atmosphere However service is terrible and food on our visit was awful,, Went in around 2.30 pm for Sunday lunch found ourselves a table then went to order some drinks from the bar,, After serving all there presumed regulars they finally got round to me,, Went and sat down for 10 minutes to look at the food menu and decided on Sunday roast so returned to the bar to order Sunday roast however this is not available decided on beef wraps,, halfway through this transaction the member staff serving me decided to get involved with another member of staff in dealing with another customer which I understand was a refund. So now 40 mins later I’m presented with a bread bun with some beef and covered with some sort of thick slimy gravy and fries in a dish no sides and not really appealing,, it was how it looked awful.. We keep hearing how hard it is to keep these places open and I appreciate its budget dining but come on if you can’t get the basics right !!!!

First time coming to The Carleton today and I definitely wont be returning! The food took 40 mins to arrive after chasing it twice and then each kitchen run for our meals was very delayed. No one came to ask if the meals were okay and the food we were served was average. I did complain to a waitress but nothing was done. Would understand about a delay with the food if it was busy but it wasn't! Won't be returning.

Just had our annual Christmas dinner and get together here for the first time and absolutely loved it xx portion sizes are huge, the food was served hot, no mean feat when serving 15 people and really delicious xx the staff are so friendly and nothing is too much trouble xx if you are looking for somewhere to eat, don't miss this xx

Just wanted to share an experience I have had here seen as though my name has been mentioned (GDPR Regulations non existent). As a manager of a care company, and taking my team out for a Xmas meal which has been a tough year to work and they all deserve to be treated and relaxed just for one night. This meal was pre booked and was paid for before we even had eaten, the food was very poor to the point that nobody touched their meals. What i do not take kindly to is the lies from the staff, now you have CCTV in your pub please feel free to go through and see where this threatening behaviour was!!! I have a right to complain which i did and to my amazement your staff was not even trained to process a refund who was the manager in charge in the absence of the GM. I did request a FULL REFUND sorry but i would not serve the food to my dog let alone to other people!! so yes i am going to request a full refund, i also would love to know this 17 year old who we made ''WALK OUT'' just as I apparently made your staff ''DEMAND'' you to come into the pub yet another Lie however you would not address this on the night would you? Another thing WHO was eating food prior to coming, we had bags on Xmas presents on the table with wrappers!!! Not a nice allegation to make towards us especially when your staff came to the tables and the only thing we had was alcohol, maybe you should clean the pub correctly instead of trying to blame it on other people. I would honestly welcome you to check your CCTV as nobody had eaten anything in fact my staff had not eaten all day because we was looking forward to an Xmas meal! After I complained we was simply told drink up and leave!! BECAUSE THEY TOOK ON MORE THAN WHAT THEY CAN HANDLE!!! DONT WORRY THIS HAS NOW GONE TO AN OFFICAL COMPLAINT TO GREENE KING!!! And you have no need to respond with anymore lies so please do not respond to this review. It has been taken up with head office. Merry Christmas :)
