It's only a small indoor market but it'll cater for most needs, even a couple of cafes too if you fancy a drink & a meal 👍

Small but thriving. Some of these old traditional market halls are somewhat desolate with few traders, but this one in Pontefract is well supported. Good range of stalls from deli's to cafés, clothing and fancy dress. Shame to see no haberdashers or ironmongers, they're my favourites! Stalls are reasonably priced and their holders are affable and helpful. Indoor market open Monday to Saturday 8.30am to 4.30pm. Closed on a Sunday. Outdoor market on Wed, Fri and Sat 8.30am to 4pm. Grade 2 listed building.

Lovely old market. But are there any OWLS, there could be!! They might be hiding, in the roof spaces, Youm never ever know when them might be looking at you, them OWLS, big claws, them 'ave, big wings an-all

Full of little individual units selling everything from, newspapers, cooked meats, cakes, cheeses, hand bags and purses, curtains and bedding, clothes from young and old, school uniforms, card shop, florists, butchers, even somewhere to take your telephone to be repaired. Not bad for a little market hall. Full of life
