My friends and I were in Robins hood bay and stumbled upon this great cafe while wondering through the streets of the bay. Its quite unassuming but we liked the menu so ventured in. It has indoor and outdoor seating for better weather. It was warm and comfortable Inside. There is a beautiful cake display and we ordered Darjeeling tea, Bakewell tart, scones, chai tea and coffee. The tea was served in beautiful ceramics we loved so much so we want to purchase one of the milk jugs. All the cakes we ordered were delicious and generous serves particularly the Bakewell tarts. The Darjeeling tea was loose leaf and flavoursome. We sat and chatted with one of the ladies serving and she was lovely in fact all the team serving were lovely and friendly. This really was a lovely friendly place to stop for a snack and all the food coming out looked great.

Friendly service and tasty food. The apple & pork pie with Yorkshire chutney was excellent and the tuna & cheese melt was very good. Large amount of filling in the ham & cheese on very fresh bread. Good selection of local beer. The cakes were delicious. Yorkshire curd tart was very good. Beautiful views. Would recommend.

I never, ever, leave reviews in situations where I haven’t been able to actually try the place, but on this occasion unfortunately it feels warranted. We went in and got a table, and were told that the cafe wouldn’t be taking orders for around half an hour so they could catch up - this wouldn’t have been a problem, it happens, but the way the member of staff spoke to us was very rude, as if it was our personal fault they were busy. The member of staff was incredibly short with us and whilst none of us are snobs and have all worked in cafe environments before so know how busy it can get, there really is never a need to speak to other human beings as if they’re idiots. We left (as we were worried about our parking running out) and a couple we got chatting with on our way out who had stayed for a coffee expressed that they were also upset by the way they’d been spoken to. If it had just happened to us, I wouldn’t have bothered leaving a review, but looking at the existing reviews of this place and the couple we spoke to saying the same made me wonder if this is a common issue? The sign they put in the door also suggested that the cafe would be closed for the rest of the day. This was at around midday on Sunday. As I was waiting for my partner to come out of the toilet, lots of people came past, saw the sign, and were really disappointed as they’d gone out their way to come here for lunch. Very disappointed as the menu looked lovely, and the coffee is from a great roastery, so was really looking forward to eating here. Will likely not come back the next time I’m in the area due to this experience.

We had great coffee, scone and cake here when we stopped at Robin Hoods Bay. All the pubs and coffee shops in town are looking nice but this one has the best sea views, specially if you're sitting outside on the terrace. Excellent location, good food selection, staff is friendly and the toilets were clean. Deserved 5 stars.

I really enjoyed stopping here for a coffee after a walk along the beach. We chose a seat on the balcony overlooking the sea and were entertained by some friendly sparrows who were popping in now and then for a crumb or two which they found on the floor. The latte was pleasant and came with a Lotus biscotti which was delicious. £3.40 for a latte is a bit steep but worth paying when you have access to the wonderful views and a free biscuit - will definitely visit again if in the area.
