If you're ever on the NE coast you have to visit this lovely little village. Parking is at the top of the hill as traffic restrictions apply and you can see why. Very narrow streets that are only one vehicle width. We visited mid December and it was very quiet, ideal for us, and parking is free during the winter months.

Just 20 mins from Whitby, this place is ideal for rock pooling, fossil hunting- although we did not encounter any. It’s nice to visit on a low tide day where you can take a stroll on the beach. You can also witness the river/stream meeting the sea. The town is very pretty with houses built so close to each other leaving you in awe. We went in November end and we were lucky to have witnessed sun and the town was quiet.

It is a truly delightful village, perfect for a visit, with opportunities to enjoy scenic walks and explore the beach. There are charming shops to browse and a variety of coffee shops where one can relax. Furthermore, the area boasts beautiful cottages to admire, and for those who appreciate a refreshing beer, there are several inviting pubs offering drinks and meals.

Stunning clifside village the likes of which stories are written about. Situated 20 mins from Whitby on a road which traverses the moors and heathland. You have to park at the top of the bay and walk down. There is one larger and smaller car park. Be aware this walk is not for the infirm as going into Robin Hoods bay is a steep incline down hill and therefore walking back could be a challenge for some. Take the time and wonder the cobbled back streets and explore all the tiny little alley ways to discover all the idyllic little cottages and hideaways. The are quite a few cafes and pubs to regenerate before the steep incline back up the hill to your car. If the tide is out you can explore the beech and maybe go fossil hunting. A gem of place and I would say a must visit if in the area.

Visit Robin's Hood Bay if you plan a trip to England. You can spend hours wandering this town and never get bored. This, plus the walk on the Cleveland Way trail to Whitby is perfect for a full day that you will never forget. The citizens we met in Robin Hood's Bay were extremely kind, and not jaded by the fact that their town has become a place for throngs of tourists.
