I really hate rating places so low but I went here for the first time today and I'll never be going back. Even though entry for a 1 year old is only £3.50 I still feel like I've been ripped off. Entered the area for younger children where they're meant to have a vets and cafe and builders yard set up but it was absolutely trashed. There weren't really any toys actually in those little sections. I know things get messy and disorganised with kids playing but the staff didn't seem to be all that busy. You'd think they'd have a wander round a couple of times a day to straighten things up. The ball pools are really lacking, a tiny one person one for the baby area and in the bigger ages it was just a few balls thrown at the bottom of a slide. Maybe it's aimed at more older kids rather than babies but I'd seen online they had a sensory room. I'd already paid the £3.50 entry fee and went to the sensory room to find it locked with a note on the door saying to go to the desk and pay £4.50 to get the code to be allowed into the room. Absolutely ridiculous and to not be made aware of this when paying that the entry fee didn't cover everything is really decieving. Lots of things we're out of order around the place too. All this I could overlook but the reason I won't be returning is because of how dirty everywhere was. I understand a bit of dust collecting but there was layers and layers of dirt and dust built up in areas that were easily accessible to even crawling children. As well as a lot of toys themselves. A real shame, could be fantastic with a bit of TLC.
We drove 40 minutes to try this place on 23/7/25 because we seen Elsa would be there and wow was it worth it, had a lovely girl at the desk explain everything and was very thorough welcoming us and the lady dressed as Elsa was so lovely with the kids and really made my daughter feel like they were best friends, she's not stopped talking about it all day. Will definitely be spending the fuel to come here more often.
My advice to anyone thinking of going to Funny Farm is given it serious thought. We visit yesterday afternoon 2pm 10th November and was greated by two very miserable, unhelpful girls. Once in at a cost of £7.40 we were told it closed at 4pm for a pre booked party. Completely dismayed as the place was overtaken by the foul odour of blocked drains the toilets being close to the kitchen where food is prepared, total health hazard. We left after 15/20 minutes due to the smell and told the unhelpful staff, who were, quite literally useless and chose not to investigate, just dismissive attitude. A total health hazard for young children and guess these staff have never been trained in any type of emergency procedures. In a word 'dreadful'
I have been to the funny farm play centre today with my friend and her little boy and I wish I'd have known what we were in store for before we went. As we came in we were greeted by the most miserable looking girl I have ever seen! Anybody would think she's being forced to be there!! The sensory room was very underwhelming and not much to do in there, the toilets were absolutely vile! We then ordered one meal and the miserable looking girl took our order, that was the first bad sign. 25 minutes later the food still hadn't arrived at the table. It took for another staff member to ask us if we had ordered food for them to notice she hadn't even told the kitchen our order!!!!!! The food finally arrived to our table 35 minutes later and the food is so oily it is unreal and the chips are drier than the sahara desert!!! also £4.10 for 3 chicken chunks and a few chips is outrageous. do not recommend! if i could give this place negative stars i would!
I had such high hopes for this place, I even came back after a very disappointing 1st visit, but for me i think twice is enough. Staff were late, unapologetic, the establishment had food scattered around places from the previous night, and they opened to the public after Xmas advertising play and eat. They barely had any food, Which resorting in multiple people having to change orders after 40minutes of waiting. The place is in serious need of a revamp and maybe some more staff training.
