I've only given this three stars as the bar was closed, car park full, all tickets sold out, no candy floss and it was raining. I'm joking... This isn't a public place, it's a private boat club. We've sailed past here for the last 12 odd years and always moor here on the lock stage the night before ascending the flight of locks into Sheffield - it's always peaceful and tranquil, and the few we've met who live / moor here are fine folk.
Nice walk along the tow path well looked after. You wouldn't believe you were in Rotherham
A lovely place to walk the dog. The footpaths have all been recently resurfaced and the area is clean and well maintained. Beautiful murals decorate the walls of bridges and a full wall mural at Holm's lock. The addition of bins along the path is welcome. In the summer there is a wild flower meadow at ickkes and in autumn the trees there look amazing.
Igo4 long lovely walks with my girlfriend hear the passing people are nice and friendly there are people on bicycles on people walking dogs it is good it is nice you can hear the birds singing from miles away there is a train passing in the background and there are some cows and the pig it's very good
Awesome little walk taking in the view as you pass by. Plenty of room to walk, run or cycle. Just be careful on the wooden bridge as it gets slippery when wet 👍
