We stayed here for a night, we were in Grouse moor, a lovely well presented spacious room, with stunning views over the gardens towards the ornamental lake. We enjoyed a glass of aspel cider from the bar in one of many comunal spaces on offer, the staff were helpful and and friendly making for a pleasant atmosphere. We then entered the restaurant area for an included 2 course meal, my wife chose garlic mushrooms and I had the terrine , both were well presented and served by knowledgeable, friendly staff. For mains we ordered two sirloin steaks with the usual sides, I asked if the chef could make a Diane sauce to accompany my wife's steak . He agreed and we sat looking forward to our meal. When it arrived I horrified and dissapointed at what the chef seemed to think was a Diane sauce, it arrived brown with tomatoes chopped into it and resembled a chasseure sauce as opposed to a Diane. We asked for meal to be returned to the kitchen and I requested the chef come to our table to explain himself, after around 15 minutes he arrived and I asked him how to make a Diane sauce. To my amazement he described perfectly how to make one I then said then why did you add tomatoes? He had nothing to say other than that's what he does!! Well to anyone with a tomato allergy expecting a Diane sauce and given his version could become seriously ill, this is unacceptable and I would him rather refuse to make one on the first instance. We ended up ordering ham and cheese sandwiches on wholemeal bread with chips in our room, only to be delivered white bread sandwiches, which again had to be replaced by this time the chips were luke warm. Very poor dining experience. In the morning we attended what I can only describe as one of the most well presented breakfast bars i have seen for sometime, the choice was exceptional, the staff again were outstanding and professional, especially Annette the full English was cooked to perfection along with the poached egg. Well done to a hatrd working professional team, let down by a Chef with no regard for people with allergies. A big thank you to the rest of the staff but thumbs down πŸ‘Ž to chef

My wife and i had a great two day stay at Grinkle Park recently. Room was a very good size, very clean, comfortable, good view. All the staff were excellent. The hotel itself is fantastic, love the building, decor and grounds. Had two evening meals and they were both very good. No complaints at all and our dinner bed and breakfast deal was very reasonable.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Grinkle Park last week. All the staff were extremely attentive, helpful and friendly and were particularly welcoming to our Labrador who had a lovely time. The staff really couldn't do more to make sure our stay was perfect. The hotel is well maintained, warm and comfortable with plenty of nice chairs and sofas to relax in at the end of the day. Our room was spacious and clean with a comfy bed. We had bed breakfast and dinner with an afternoon cream tea. This was lovely and served beautifully. All the meals were fabulous with a good menu choice and very generous portions. We shall definitely return in the near future. Thank you to all the staff who are extremely professional and welcoming.

This is our second visit to Grinkle Park, and we love it. Both times have been a great experience and after recommending to friends they really liked it too and will also return. We have no complaints with the room, we booked a suite, it was large, clean and comfortable, with bottled water. The value for money here is very good, our package consisting of B&B and 2 course evening meal, and afternoon cream tea. The service from booking, right through to when we arrived, and dinner and breakfast service was all very good. All staff are really friendly and helpful. Food is in the main, good, with a reasonable choice, and plenty of options for allergies. Grounds are lovely, and we were lucky to have good weather to enjoy them. The public rooms are lovely and comfortable. Will always come back here to stay when we want to come up to this area.

Another fantastic stay at Grinkle Park in a lovely room. The Christmas decorations made it extra special - plus sitting by the fire with a few drinks and a good book. We have stayed here every year for the past 10 years or more. The view over the gardens was a great feature from our window. The room was well appointed and very clean. The staff were very friendly and the evening meal and breakfast was of great quality. I would recommend Grinkle unreservedly if you are looking for a quiet, chilled break surrounded by wildlife and nature. We always manage a walk during our stay - an added benefit with this location.
