Welcome to Yorkshire

|As the nights start drawing in, thoughts inevitably turn to one thing: Christmas. And with that comes the annual question of how to get the family together for a proper festive celebration. If the usual panto or market trip doesn't quite cut it, there's a show returning for 2025 that mixes the magic of a Christmas fairytale with the foot-stomping energy of an Irish pub session. After four completely sold-out tours, the smash-hit Irish concert ‘A Fairytale for Christmas’ is back for its biggest tour yet. This isn't just any Christmas show; it's a full-blown extravaganza of music and dance that’s become a festive tradition for families across the country. And this year, the tour includes a massive night in London at the legendary Dominion Theatre.

What's the big deal about this show?
Imagine the best Christmas party ever, but with a lively Irish twist. That’s ‘A Fairytale for Christmas’ in a nutshell. This fantastic concert is the brainchild of the same team that created the massive crowd-pleaser, ‘Seven Drunken Nights – The Story of the Dubliners’. They've taken that same passion for Irish culture and music and blended it with everyone’s favourite festive tunes. The result is a unique show that combines the joy of St Patrick’s Day with the magic of Christmas. It’s a world-class concert experience featuring brilliant singers, musicians, and talented dancers who bring an infectious energy to the stage. The setlist is a perfect mix, so one minute you could be singing along to ‘I Wish It Could Be Christmas Every day’, and the next you’re stamping your feet to Irish classics and brilliant Celtic hits like ‘The Irish Rover’.
A proper festive offering for the whole family
There's a reason this show sees people coming back year after year. It has become a core part of the family Christmas calendar for thousands. In 2024 alone, the tour sold a staggering 200,000 tickets across 133 shows in five different countries. That kind of success doesn’t happen by accident. The show is a sing-along extravaganza designed to fill the room with festive cheer. It’s a real celebration for all ages, creating a brilliant atmosphere that gets everyone involved. This festive offering is all about fun, and with three separate casts touring simultaneously, the Christmas spirit will be spreading far and wide throughout November and December, from Dublin all the way to London and even Scandinavia. This is more than just a concert; it’s an experience designed to make memories.
From the team who brought you The Dubliners story
The quality of this production shouldn't be a surprise, given who is behind it. Prestige Productions has a long history of creating amazing shows, with their tribute to The Dubliners, ‘Seven Drunken Nights’, becoming a global phenomenon over the last decade. That show has earned countless standing ovations and given audiences a chance to either relive the glory days of one of Ireland's most famous bands or discover their incredible music for the first time. The same attention to detail and love for Irish culture has been poured into ‘A Fairytale for Christmas’. It’s a show made by people who are passionate about performance, and it’s a chance to discover a new kind of Christmas celebration that feels both traditional and excitingly new.
The director calls it a 'craic-ker' of a show
Sometimes, the person who created the show can describe it best. When asked to sum up ‘A Fairytale for Christmas’, writer and director Ged Graham had the perfect answer. He said, "When people ask me to describe Fairytale I tell them. What would happen if St Patrick’s Day collided with the best Christmas party you ever had? ..... A Fairytale for Christmas of course it’s the ultimate Irish inspired Christmas celebration and a craic-ker of a show." And that really hits the nail on the head. It's not just festive music; it's a full-on, high-energy party that promises to be a 'craic-ker' from start to finish. This is the ultimate Irish-inspired Christmas concert.
