So, who is playing with whom?
Okay, let's break it down. These new artists are not just playing their own shows; they're providing support for some massive names, making each night a truly unmissable event. It’s a chance to see some of your favourites and discover someone new at the same time. Think of it like getting a surprise extra scoop of your favourite ice cream – it just makes everything better. The updated line-up is looking fantastic.
Here’s a quick look at who will be warming up the stage for the headliners:
The incredible Du Blonde is set to support the double-headliner show from rock legends Skunk Anansie and Garbage on Saturday, 20th June. That’s a night of powerful, alternative rock anthems.
Katie Owen will be getting the party started for the one and only Billy Ocean on Sunday, 28th June. Expect some brilliant tunes to get everyone in the mood for a legend.
The wonderful Katy J Pearson is joining Irish star CMAT as a special guest on Saturday, 18th July. This promises to be a really cool night of top-tier songwriting.
Elusive rapper CASISDEAD is joining The Streets on Saturday, 1st August. This is a perfect pairing of unique British voices.
The brilliant indie-pop band The Hidden Cameras will appear as special guests for the spectacular Scissor Sisters on Saturday, 8th August.
And to round things off, the soulful James Emmanuel will open the show for the legendary Nile Rodgers & CHIC for the massive season-closing party on Saturday, 22nd August. It's a great chance to hear another talented musician called James at this year's event.
A bit more about the new artists
It’s always exciting when new names are added to a festival line-up, especially when they bring such different styles to the stage. These are not just any support acts; they are all incredible performers in their own right. From a fiery alt rocker to a thoughtful soul singer, there’s a real mix.
Du Blonde, who is supporting Skunk Anansie and Garbage, is the stage name for the multi-talented artist Beth Jeans Houghton. She’s known for a really powerful, high-energy sound that mixes big guitar riffs with catchy pop hooks. After a sold-out tour last year, her live shows have a reputation for being electric. The perfect warm-up for two iconic bands.

Katie Owen, who opens for Billy Ocean, is a Welsh rising DJ who is making a huge name for herself. She's played at massive events like the World Cup, so she knows exactly how to get a big crowd buzzing. Her set will be the perfect start to a seaside evening with a music legend.
Katy J Pearson is an Americana-tinged singer-songwriter who will be a special guest for CMAT. She's been touring all over the UK and Europe, playing with bands like Wet Leg and The Last Dinner Party, so she's definitely one to watch. Her music is perfect for a summer evening.
The Streets' special guest is the UK rapper CASISDEAD. He is known for being one of the country's most creative lyricists, often telling stories about a strange, futuristic world over 80s-inspired synth sounds. He performs with a mask and has built a huge cult following. It’s a very cool and mysterious act to add to the line-up.
The indie-pop band The Hidden Cameras are joining the Scissor Sisters as their special guests. Their music is a fun mix of dance and pop, and their latest album even got remixed by electronic music giants like the Pet Shop Boys. This is going to be a seriously fun performance.
Finally, opening for Nile Rodgers & CHIC is James Emmanuel. His musical journey started in a church gospel choir in Nigeria. Now based in Edinburgh, this fantastic soul singer is known for warm, joyful performances. His music is all about family and resilience, making him a perfect fit to open for the feel-good masters, Nile Rodgers & CHIC. Seeing another great performer named James on the bill is a real treat for everyone attending the Scarborough Open Air Theatre series.

The series already included massive names like Alanis Morissette, Michael Bublé, and Tom Jones.
