I’ve just been to deposit a large amount of cash in coins that was all counted and bagged up. I was served by the branch manager who I found to be extremely abrasive, he quite clearly did not want to count the bags. He told me that there was a 10 bag limit to which I told him that when I’d visited the Malton branch they were more than willing to accept it. He did relentlessly allow me to deposit the cash while stating “you’re one of these cash is king are you?” The guy had no other customers waiting, he was clearly doing nothing until I got to the desk and I just thought to myself that he had a very lazy and couldn’t be bothered attitude. Merry Christmas
Just walked into Halifax Selby, got seen straight away, staff was amazing. Sorted a chaps out to pay for a new home and was amazed how professional it was done. Thank you so much Jamie. Walked out totally stress free from what has been a hard process. Used the Halifax building society all my life and am now retired so was seriously impressed with the attention and politeness of the staff. Many thanks, Derek 😊😊😊😊
Truly awful service. Went in with my 94 year old mum to open an ISA. Was told the only person who can do that was in York that week and could we come back another time. I called in two weeks later to ask if this person would be around this week only to be told by a different assistant that no-one in branch was qualified to open ISA accounts and didn't know why we'd been told different. Our only option was to open an ISA on line which my mum doesn't do. I explained my mum was 94, and doesn't do things on line. There was no empathy from the staff member who could only insist they couldn't open an ISA in branch and we had to do it on line. This is not a good way to deal with a long standing customer and this relentless drive to everything on line is excluding large numbers of people who don't live their lives on line. In the end I had to leave and we're setting mum up an ISA with Yorkshire Building Society. Halifax have lost out on some significant business because of their inflexibility. I don't think for one minute any one of any importance in the Halifax will read this, let alone act on it but at least I've got it off my chest and it may help someone else in a similar situation.
The staff members are genuinely kind and accommodating. However, the limited operating hours (9 am to 3 pm) are inconvenient, and the lack of weekend availability further restricts accessibility for individuals with work commitments.
A bank that is close 3 day a week crap
