Selby Boat Centre

My narrowboat was taken to Selby Boat Centre for a repaint. It took them 6 months before they even took a paintbrush out to start work. After another 3 months, they accomplished nothing more than putting a single coat of paint on. I ended up taking it elsewhere to find that the single coat of paint they had been bothered to had started to rust. To cut a long story short, I took them to the small claims court and the claim was judged in my favour to the total of £3500. I haven't seen a penny of this since. It's hard to tell whether they're still trading or otherwise - the director says they're not but their website says otherwise. I can only suggest you take a wide, wide berth of Selby Boat Centre unless you want to take the risk of being ripped off. Now, I'll be interested in what reply they inevitably post. I'm almost certain it'll be a pack of lies with nonsense claims such as me owing them money for "storage fees" - you don't sit on someone's boat with the intention of not doing any work for 6 months and then try to charge them for it!

As far as I am aware there nothing happening there, it is a mooring place only and dry dock. No one there on the 2 days I went and they didn't answer any calls. One chap even laughed when asked if there was anyone from the boat about........

On the map it says diesel. On their sign it says diesel. Bloke says "not sold diesel for 5 years" Take the diesel out of the advert- simples. Lucky we've got enough. But if you planned on filling there you're stuffed.

Love to take a walk up the river banking and happy memories of my son looking at the boats and just having nice quality family time and your able to walk along the river bank

Went in for a couple of boat bits got sorted and got some very helpful advice on a couple of other projects I'm on with. Very helpful and friendly
