Bit of an institution and for good reason. The sheer range of options for various lunches, breakfasts and sweet treats is enough of a draw, but the fact that the quality is top notch (and the prices aren't crazy) makes this an absolute must if you're in the area - the perfect place to end up after a day enjoying the outdoors or to fuel up beforehand. On this particular day I went for their special, the chorizo/mozzarella/relish toasty (lovely!) and while waiting for it to be made fresh couldn't resist getting a slab of the homemade smoked bacon and leek quiche (pictured). Took it home, reheated the next day and it was easily one of the best quiches I've had.

First visited the cafe in the 1980s food was good then and is still good now, a very busy cafe but worth the visit. There are lots of outdoor seating if weather permits but large area indoors. Plenty of cakes to take away. Excellent place

Customer service is terrible. We were seated with menus then all staff just vanished into the back. Almost got up and walked out. In hindsight we should have. Ordered 2 different cafetiere coffees, these were weak and watery. No flavour. My beans at home from amazon have more taste. Ordered the carrot cake as it looked appetising. Big mistake. We love carrot cake and have a slice in every cafe we visit. This one is the worst one we've tasted 1/10 totally bland, dry and awful texture, like a cheap packet mix. On a blind taste test you'd never guess at carrot cake. No cream cheese frosting either. Just sweet sickly buttercream. Staff very unfriendly. We would not advise going in here if you like your food and coffee to taste.

Lots of menu choices! Excellent food! Friendly staff; when paying the bill, I was given 3 fresh baguettes to take with us!

We got in about 10am just before it started to get busy. The staff were really friendly and the food was lovely. The cafe its self was clean and tidy. ( no naked men when we were there lol. )
