Clean, well-kept takeaway area with pleasant, down-to-earth service. The fish is cooked fresh to order — I had a large haddock lightly battered with a small portion of chips. Took it away to eat and it was excellent: very tasty, fresh, and full of flavour. The chips were also well cooked and flavoursome. Can’t fault it at all. Would imagine this is one of the go to fish and chip shops in the local area based on today’s market experience (and not being familiar with the local area). There is also a restaurant side available for eating. Open until 9pm on Sundays.
First time here with family. Fantastic service with friendly staff and the fish and chips are the best we have had in a long time. Lovely friendly atmosphere inside and we will be back . A lovely treat after going around the village looking at the Flowerpot Trail which runs till September 7th x
Fantastic chippy! Lovely chips. Amazing batter!!! I really appreciate that when having fish and chips they salt and vinegar the chips, put the fish on and S&V again. The pies were top, amazing flavour and great pastry. Definitely in the top 3 of Yorkshire Chippies
A little on the pricey side. You pay extra for Bread and butter, mushy peas, curry sauce etc. and drinks. However we were well and truly pleased with the food. The fish is larger than you rnormal fish and chip shop produce and was cooked to perfection. Moist fish and batter not too thick but still nice and crisp. Recommend.
I absolutely love proper, Yorkshire-cooked fish and chips. I wasn't planning to eat here, but I was passing and was drawn in... 1 had haddock, chips and mushy peas. They were delicious! Light, crispy batter on the fresh, flaky fish. Crispy chips with fluffy centres and unctuous mushy peas. Perfect. Very satisfying! Very friendly staff. Definitely recommended.
