“I punish customers who annoy me by making them wait”. Mark Eccleston, Kings Mill Garage, Settle Goodness knows what I did to annoy Mark by accepting his offer to fix my car, but after two months of appalling communication; broken promises; inconsistent messages; not actioning requests; aggressive, volatile and erratic behaviour, I was left with a bill for transporting the vehicle to a professional garage, where the initial problem was quickly resolved and additional damage caused by Kingsmill Garage fixed. I take no pleasure in posting this negative review, but this is the reality of my experience, and it has had a devastating effect upon my mental health and finances. Future customers – particularly women – need to be aware of this. Eccleston was given numerous opportunities to say that he could not do the job but chose instead to keep stringing me along with new and inconsistent promises, frequently contradicting what he had said before. It was as though he had to be in charge. His sudden aggressive mood swings were terrifying, reducing me to tears on two occasions. He held my car for eight weeks, did nothing, and seemed to enjoy the control. The opening quote to this review is something Eccleston said to me twice during my awful experience. The fact that a business owner would even make a boast like that to a customer, tells you everything you need to know about the state of mind of this cowardly little man, and my advice would be, avoid at all costs.

So helpful, lost a wheel bolt and the lads helped us out super quick. Such a friendly crew. Now we can drive safely through the UK again👍😊👍

Great help from Mark - after a recent visit to the area and emergency repair. Sorted out the car brakes at short notice, and helped us get back on the road quickly to enjoy the rest of our Dales trip.

Mark recently came to our rescue when an urgent problem with our brakes arose just before a five-hour motorway journey home from a short break in the Dales. He helped us straight away in spite of being busy that day and sorted out the the problem for us quickly so that we could get home safely.

I received excellent service at this garage. I'm not from the area, just staying here on vacation, but needed to book our van in for diagnosis and repair for a steering fault. The problem was quickly identified and repaired at a reasonable price and I was kept well informed. They took the time to fully explain the problem in words even a car simpleton like myself could understand. Highly recommended.
