Boots Pharmacy

The shop may be small but it's amazing how much is in it. Great variety.

I have been let down countless times by this pharmacy and today is the last straw, after they evidently failed to act on an out of stock message last week for one of my vital medications. Had I not called today to just double check that it was there, the prescription would still not have been acted on. As it is, I just hope I can continue to squeeze enough drops out of my old bottle tonight. I will be collecting from a different pharmacy in the future.

I went into the store on Thursday to ask if I could have a prescription urgently as I had let myself run out of tablets by mistake. The young lady explained what I needed to do (ring the surgery to send it to them quickly). I did this as I drove as I was out for the day that day and very busy. Just as I remembered about it in the afternoon and wondered if it would be done, I got a text message from Boots saying they had the prescription and it was being prepared. My mind was put at rest which was great. I was able to get the prescription on Friday morning. Thank you Boots in Settle for sorting this out for me so efficiently. It was very much appreciated.

Condescending attitude of staff. Complete ignorance shown when told to come back in an hour and a half, even when I explained I lived 7 miles away! She told me I could take it to a nearer chemist but I again explained that was my nearest, 7 miles away and she simply did not care. After calling back mid afternoon to ask if anyone lived in my village as I could not get back to the store today, a nice person called Amy, said she would drop the prescription off for me in the evening, as a one off. Thank heavens for one kind member of staff and thank you Amy!

Have used this pharmacy for over 35 years. Have always found the staff in this pharmacy really helpful, in particular the pharmacists, who have always been knowledgeable and helpful. They are clearly understaffed - Boots definitely needs to employ more staff.
